About the role

The Director of Food & Beverage at The Dalmar & Element Hotel, part of the Wurzak Hotel Group, oversees the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel's fine dining outlets, room service, and catering services. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans, collaborating with the executive team to create innovative menus, maximizing profitability, and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the food and beverage department in alignment with the hotel's overall goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with the executive team to create innovative and profitable menus.
• Maximize Company profitability with a target margin of 20%; establish and monitor financial controls; facilitate deposits and payroll to Company; develop and implement strategies to increase year over year sales.
• Design and update menus in collaboration with chefs, considering guest preferences and market trends.
• Promptly report emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards.
• Report any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations.
• Ensure all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations.
• Consistent professional and positive attitude and actions when communicating with guests and associates.
• Ensure maintenance problems are promptly reported through proper channels.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
• Write shift reports including reports on any incidents of theft, accidents or injuries when assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food and beverage areas.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements as necessary.
• Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts and monitor performance to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Recruit, train, and supervise food and beverage staff.
• Oversee the planning and execution of special events, banquets, and catering services.
