Key Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide maintenance operations across power equipment, RTGs, and container-handling assets to ensure reliability, standardization, and cost discipline
- Drive the transition from reactive to preventative and predictive maintenance through structured PM cadence and process standardization
- Supervise maintenance teams, including foremen and mechanics, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all repair and maintenance activities
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and union leadership to strengthen collaboration, align priorities, and improve workflows across terminal operations
- Champion the transition from gas-powered to electric equipment, implementing new processes, safety standards, and training programs
- Utilize digital tools and data insights to monitor equipment performance, track maintenance costs, and enable real-time operational decision-making
- Manage vendor performance, procurement processes, and work-order systems to optimize cost, ensure accountability, and maximize equipment availability
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or related technical field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in terminal maintenance and repair or heavy equipment maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of maintenance operations, including preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for industrial or port equipment
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a unionized environment, manage labor relations, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA/environmental)
- Able to operate effectively in a rotational, 24/7 environment with strong adaptability and decision-making skills under changing conditions
