About the role
M&M Manufacturing, a Marmon Holdings/Berkshire Hathaway company, is a leading producer of sheet metal products for the air distribution and ventilation market. We are seeking a Director, Operations to lead our Fort Worth, TX facility and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all manufacturing operations across M&M Manufacturing.
- Drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost performance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
- Build, coach, and develop a strong leadership team, including managers, supervisors, leads, and frontline employees.
- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, and manufacturing best practices.
- Drive accountability for key performance indicators, including throughput, efficiency, scrap, labor utilization, lead times, inventory performance, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with planning, purchasing, logistics, customer service, sales, engineering, quality, and finance to align production priorities with customer and business needs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and other operational excellence tools.
- Oversee production planning and resource allocation to ensure labor, equipment, materials, and capacity are aligned with demand across M&M Manufacturing.
- Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, capital planning, and facility readiness.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance for the operation.
- Identify and lead initiatives that reduce waste, improve workflow, enhance employee productivity, and strengthen overall plant performance.
- Support workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness across the facility.
- Provide clear communication to senior leadership regarding operational performance, risks, opportunities, and business-critical priorities.
- Lead strategic projects related to capacity expansion, technology implementation, process improvement, and long-term operational growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, preferably in metal fabrication, HVAC products, building products, or a related industrial manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing supervisors, managers, or multi-functional manufacturing teams.
- Proven experience leading plant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, production planning, inventory control, and operational KPI management.
- Demonstrated ability to drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and employee engagement.
- Experience managing budgets, labor costs, material usage, overhead, and operational performance metrics.
- Strong understanding of OSHA requirements, safety programs, and quality management systems.
- Able to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across production, supply chain, engineering, quality, finance, sales, and customer service.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage frontline employees, business leaders, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office, production reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sheet metal, HVAC, ductwork, fabrication, stamping, roll forming, or related manufacturing processes.
- Leverage Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
- Experience leading capital projects, facility improvements, automation initiatives, or production ramp-ups.
- Experience supporting a multi-site or growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
