Director of Development

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute our long-term build-to-rent (BTR) development strategy.
• SOURCE AND EVALUATE OFF-MARKET AND MARKETED LAND ACQUISITION OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHEAST.
• BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH LANDOWNERS, BROKERS, MUNICIPALITIES, CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, LENDERS, AND EQUITY PARTNERS.
• LEAD UNDERWRITING, FINANCIAL ANALYSIS, DUE DILIGENCE, AND INVESTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS.
• MANAGE ENTITLEMENTS, REZONING, ANNEXATION, PERMITTING, AND MUNICIPAL APPROVALS.
• DIRECT ARCHITECTS, ENGINEERS, LAND PLANNERS, ATTORNEYS, AND CONSULTANTS THROUGHOUT THE DESIGN PROCESS.
• OVERSEER BUDGETING, SCHEDULING, VALUE ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION, LEASING, AND STABILIZATION.
• CORPORATE DEBT AND EQUITY FINANCING WITH CAPITAL PARTNERS AND LENDERS.
• RECRUIT, MENTOR, AND LEAD A HIGH-PERFORMING DEVELOPMENT TEAM.
• ESTABLISH INSTITUTIONAL-QUALITY SYSTEMS, REPORTING, AND OPERATIONAL PROCESSES.
• REPRESENT US WITHIN THE DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY AND MAINTAIN KEY INDUSTRY RELATIONSHIPS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University (advanced degree preferred).
• Significant experience in multifamily and/or build-to-rent development.
• Demonstrated success leading projects from acquisition through completion.
• Strong understanding of entitlements, design, construction, capital markets, and development finance.
• Existing industry relationships throughout the Southeast.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with high integrity and a collaborative leadership style.
