Director of Development

About the role

The Director of Development is responsible for overseeing all fundraising activities, including grant writing, donor stewardship, and event planning. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for philanthropy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet annual goals.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and secure major gifts.
• Oversee grant writing efforts and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Steward existing donors and cultivate new relationships through personalized outreach.
• Plan and execute fundraising events to engage the community and raise funds.
• Collaborate with other departments to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in development or fundraising roles.
• Proven track record of successful fundraising campaigns and grant writing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
• Knowledge of current trends in fundraising and philanthropy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel as needed.
