Director of Critical Care

Job Summary

The Director of Critical Care is responsible for the overall management of the Critical Care/Telemetry units, Stroke Program, Chest Pain Center, to achieve quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and fiscal productivity.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, master’s in nursing or health related area preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current Louisiana RN License.
• Experience: A minimum of five years related clinical experience. Minimum of one year demonstrated leadership experience in the field.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities

• Works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff, physicians, and employees to ensure the highest level of care for patients.
• Maintains positive employee relations as observed from employee feedback sources.
• Promotes the Code of Conduct and organizational values.
• Maintains quality control programs, as appropriate.
• Orients and provides in-service training and continuing education of all department employees.
• Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.
• Participates in the selection of sources for needed services not provided by the department or the medical center.
