Job Summary
The Director of Critical Care is responsible for the overall management of the Critical Care/Telemetry units, Stroke Program, Chest Pain Center, to achieve quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and fiscal productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, master’s in nursing or health related area preferred.
- Licensure/Certifications: Current Louisiana RN License.
- Experience: A minimum of five years related clinical experience. Minimum of one year demonstrated leadership experience in the field.
Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- Works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff, physicians, and employees to ensure the highest level of care for patients.
- Maintains positive employee relations as observed from employee feedback sources.
- Promotes the Code of Conduct and organizational values.
- Maintains quality control programs, as appropriate.
- Orients and provides in-service training and continuing education of all department employees.
- Recommends space and other resources needed by the department.
- Participates in the selection of sources for needed services not provided by the department or the medical center.
