Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director of Critical Care at Medical City Dallas is responsible for operations and the integration of the service within overall hospital functions. They provide leadership to improve performance through assessment, planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the care provided for acute and critically ill adult patients.
- Manage fiscal, human resources, strategic planning, and operational functions.
- Achieve budgetary targets and manage productivity.
- Assure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and collaborate with the Medical Staff, specifically with Hospitalists and Intensivists physicians.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years’ experience in management, preferably in a hospital setting with experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, and physician relations.
- Previous management in critical care required, with the cardiac intensive care population highly preferred.
- Clinical or leadership experience is required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and ACLS is required.
- Current RN license in the State of Texas - compact is accepted.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Certification in critical care or leadership is preferred.
