Director of Critical Care

Job Summary

We are seeking a Nursing Director to lead the Critical Care department. Key responsibilities include:

• Directs development of specific short and long-range programs and project plans to obtain facility objectives.
• Coordinates the department's daily activities, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Selects qualified personnel to meet department objectives.
• Reviews and approves staff evaluations, and oversees disciplinary actions.
• Manages project priorities and resource allocation to achieve facility goals.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, JCAHO, and local regulatory agency requirements.
• Participates on various committees and task forces to drive facility success.
• Determines the most appropriate solutions in the absence of established guidelines.
• Confers with other department directors to resolve procedural difficulties and clarify responsibilities.
• Directs and reviews contract services personnel.
• Manages special projects as assigned by the Administrative Management Team.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Florida RN license required.
• BLS required.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, and follow verbal instructions.
• Project planning and management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
