As the Director of Content Marketing and Corporate Communications, you will lead a team in developing all aspects of internal and external content, manage the "Content Farm," and partner with internal departments, stakeholders, and New York City Health + Hospitals to implement content strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead a structured and scalable content strategic framework with a “create once, publish everywhere” mindset and measure clear marketing ROI.
- Partner with departments, key stakeholders, and New York City Health + Hospitals on content development and initiatives.
- Manage the enterprise editorial calendar and oversee content activation, including public relations, social media, internal communications, website, blog, prospect, and member communications.
- Oversee the execution of content for regularly scheduled monthly email newsletters, weekly email programs, weekly blog posts, personalized digital experiences, etc.
- Partner with analytics and performance marketing to develop lead generation and customer engagement strategies, campaign and messaging ideas, optimization tactics, and PR initiatives.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for day-to-day work with the PR agency, communicate media goals, and manage press release creation and media pitching opportunities.
- Provide copy editing, guidance, and coaching to the content team and serve as quality control for company communications.
- Write and edit content, articles, white papers, emails, and other marketing and sales collateral.
- Write and edit internal communications and member communications as needed.
- Develop copy for company websites, landing pages, advertisements, webinars, and email campaigns.
- Consult and edit writing materials for C-level executives.
- Research key thought leadership ideas for content and placement, and pinpoint industry trends.
- Develop the content team into better writers and marketers through editing and revision processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BA or BS in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
- 8+ years’ experience in content marketing and corporate communications.
- Strong insight generation to identify marketing opportunities.
- Experience leading and managing a team of internal and external resources, including capacity, deadlines, and final deliverables.
- Mind for efficiency and using resources creatively.
- Exemplary editing skills, capable of giving each piece of writing as many coats of polish as necessary—from comprehensive overhauls to speedy proofreads.
- Strong research skills, including following industry trends, tracking down blog stories, conducting market research, and interviewing customers and subject-matter experts.
- Proficiency in active voice, consistency and correctness, and AP Style.
- Track record of working on successful marketing campaigns.
- Experience with consumer and/or healthcare brands.
- Experience developing inbound marketing strategies.
- SEO experience.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics.
