About the role

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a Director of Community Engagement in the School of Public Health. The Director of Community Engagement provides strategic leadership for building, sustaining, and expanding partnerships that advance the mission, visibility, and enrollment goals of the UNLV School of Public Health (SPH).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement outreach and recruitment strategies that attract undergraduate and graduate students whose backgrounds, experiences, and aspirations reflect the demographic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity of the Las Vegas metropolitan community.
  • Support and provide leadership to the Nevada Community Health Coalition, and collaborate with the Center for Health Disparities and the Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy.
  • Conduct community based participatory research through community engagement, education, research, and service-learning opportunities for historically underserved student and community populations.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • 3-5 years of professional, management, and supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with community-based participatory research utilizing assessment, evaluation, and data analysis.
  • Experience with budget management and financial accounting.
