About the role

Sweetgreen is on a mission to build healthier communities by connecting people to real food. We passionately believe that real food should be convenient and accessible to everyone. Every day in each sweetgreen, our 6,000+ team members make food from scratch, using fresh ingredients and produce delivered that morning. And in our local communities, we’re committed to leaving people better than we found them. We’re in the business of feeding people, and we’re out to change what that means.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a team spanning organic social, field marketing, and experiential, setting clear goals, priorities, and career growth paths for direct reports and the broader team
  • Own sweetgreen's organic social strategy and community voice across all platforms — building an engaged following, fostering authentic conversation, and driving user-generated content and cultural relevance in a way that reflects our values and resonates with our guests
  • Build and oversee the regional and field marketing function, ensuring sweetgreen shows up meaningfully in local markets through community partnerships, neighborhood giveback initiatives, new market activations, and grassroots programming
  • Lead sweetgreen's experiential execution by creating IRL moments ranging from large-scale tentpole events to intimate community experiences that deepen brand love and generate earned media
  • Build robust measurement frameworks to connect community investment to brand health, traffic, trial, and retention, and regularly communicate ROI and learnings to senior leadership. Model continuous improvement, with an equal passion for culture and an obsession with data
  • Collaborate closely with Brand, Creative, Culinary, Growth Marketing, Partnerships, and Restaurant Operations to integrate community programming into broader campaigns, product launches, and seasonal moments
  • Manage agency and event production partners, maintaining high standards of quality and accountability within budget

Qualifications

  • Based in office 4 days per week at the Sweetgreen Support Center in Los Angeles
  • 8–10+ years of experience in brand marketing, community, social, and/or integrated marketing roles at a consumer brand, with at least 3 years leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Deep expertise across organic social and at least two of the other pillars this role owns: field/regional marketing, community partnership marketing, or experiential — with genuine curiosity and confidence across all of them
  • Proven ability to connect community and brand programming to business outcomes — you understand how culture drives commerce, and you can articulate that clearly to stakeholders
  • Track record of building and scaling community partnerships, ambassador programs, or co-marketing initiatives that generate meaningful brand equity and measurable lift at a community level (IRL and digital)
  • Exceptional people leader with experience building high-performing teams, fostering creative cultures, and developing talent at multiple career stages
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful — you've built programs from the ground up and know how to prioritize when everything feels urgent
  • Strong communicator and storyteller, comfortable presenting strategy, creative work, and performance results to senior leadership
  • Passion for food, wellness, sustainability, and the communities sweetgreen serves
  • Highly collaborative, with a demonstrated ability to navigate complex cross-functional organizations and move work forward without formal authority
