About the Role
Responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of business operations across the organization, ensuring operational excellence, financial health, compliance, and sustainable growth. This role partners with executive leadership to improve organizational performance through effective management of operations, financial processes, business systems, client relationships, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Director of Business Operations drives cross-functional collaboration to optimize service delivery, enhance profitability, and support the company's long-term strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the billing, finance, and operations teams to drive efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the invoicing, billing, and collections processes.
- Oversee and improve end-to-end client billing workflows, including front-end billing processes, initial funding verification, backup documentation, and invoice submission accuracy.
- Establish performance metrics and controls to ensure timely, accurate billing and effective collections management.
- Serve as the primary liaison between ITG and clients regarding billing approvals, invoice reconciliation, payment status, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to ensure field operations, project delivery, and customer-facing teams provide complete and accurate documentation required to support timely invoicing.
- Work closely with finance leadership to identify and address opportunities to improve cash flow, reduce aged receivables, and strengthen collection performance.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve billing disputes, eliminate process bottlenecks, and accelerate payment cycles.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging, funding timelines, invoice accuracy, and collection trends, implementing corrective actions to improve performance.
- Develop reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into billing efficiency, collection effectiveness, cash conversion, and revenue realization metrics.
- Ensure accountability across departments for meeting billing, documentation, and collection requirements that support healthy cash flow and financial performance.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accounts receivable aging and collections performance
- Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
- Invoice accuracy and first-pass approval rates
- Billing cycle time
- Cash conversion and collection effectiveness
- Percentage of invoices submitted with complete supporting documentation
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, Accounting, or a related field required.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, finance, business management, or related functions.
- 5+ years of experience leading large teams and cross-functional business operations.
- Demonstrated success driving operational excellence, business growth, organizational effectiveness, and financial performance.
- Experience managing complex, multi-site operations in telecommunications, technology, field services, infrastructure, or related industries preferred.
- Experience supporting high-growth organizations, transformation initiatives, or mergers and acquisitions is a plus.
Exposure
- Strong understanding of business operations, strategic planning, and organizational performance management.
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and business analytics.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and operational best practices.
- Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and audit requirements.
- Experience with ERP, operational management, and business intelligence systems.
