About the role

This role contributes to Starbucks success by leading the development, execution, and delivery of solutions that help Starbucks identify new store growth and reinvestment opportunities and the efforts to execute against the opportunity. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver cutting-edge, best-in-class solutions and insights in commercial real estate growth and development. Accountable for successful implementation of new solutions into the Starbucks business, namely across licensees and international store development. Develops and manages budgets, work plans, staffing plans, and recognition and retention initiatives in support of program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage real estate growth expertise and business strategy skills to lead a small team of market planners and technologists to deliver on Starbucks' growth plan.
  • Set goals for the work team and actively provide partners with coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Drive change in store development systems to deliver an approach to market growth strategy, including GIS systems, data visualization, and project management systems.
  • Model leadership behaviors grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
  • Drive the engagement, development, and performance of team members.
  • Influence broadly across the enterprise to mobilize partners to support program deliverables.
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure teamwork and successful business results.
  • Lead and influence across functions, regions, and cultures to align the organization for successful deployment of large-scale initiatives.
  • Triangulate current economic, retail business, and commercial real estate information to form business opportunities and apply solutions that deliver market growth.
  • Interpret data sets and transform them into storytelling contexts for executive-level communication and data-driven decision-making.
  • Partner with finance and field leaders to brief current conditions and business forecasts that inform future growth strategies.
  • Challenge and inspire team members to achieve business results.
  • Ensure the completion of performance reviews and adherence to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Oversee training, development, and staffing decisions to achieve business and customer results.
  • Provide coaching, direction, and leadership support to team members.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strategic and technological expertise in consumer-focused industries (food service, retail, consumer goods).
  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing commercial real estate growth strategy.
  • Advanced experience with technology tools like ArcGIS, Alteryx, Microsoft Databricks, Azure, Python, Power BI, and virtual collaboration tools.
  • 5+ years of market planning and/or commercial real estate experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business process design and leading multiple large program or project implementations within a large, global company.
  • 5+ years of experience in budgeting, planning, and managing projects and programs.
  • 5+ years of supervision experience with diverse international work groups.
  • 5+ years of experience working across organizational boundaries at all levels, including executive positions.

Pay

The actual base pay offered will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role.

Schedule

This role requires being onsite four days a week.
