Director Inpatient Rehab Services

About the Role

The Director of Inpatient Rehab Services oversees all inpatient rehabilitation and therapy operations, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and the inpatient rehab unit, with responsibility for approximately 39 FTEs. This role focuses on operational excellence, service line growth, patient outcomes, and leading future expansion initiatives, including planned rehabilitation unit enhancements.

The Director reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and is a member of the Leadership Team, working collaboratively to ensure integration with the organization’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all clinical and non-clinical associates, including dedicated marketing personnel.
• Develop and implement operational standards, policies, and procedures.
• Create and optimize process improvement systems to enhance volumes, quality, and efficiency.
• Lead program development and service line growth, establishing the program as a community-recognized brand for high-quality service.
• Manage budgeting and financial performance of the inpatient rehabilitation service line.
• Collaborate with the Leadership Team to align the program with the organization’s strategic goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Business/Health Administration, or a related field (if clinical discipline is Athletic Training).
• Licensed as an RN, PT/OT, Speech Therapist, or Certified as an Athletic Trainer.
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of experience as a manager or director in a rehabilitation setting.
• Master’s or Doctorate degree.
• Experience in direct employer relationships, managed care, occupational medicine, or workers’ compensation.
