About the Role
This onsite role requires full-time presence at our Oxford, NC office. The position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Oxford Filling and Assembly operation, which may include multiple cost centers or all aspects of the operation. The role involves overseeing workplace safety, GMP compliance, people development, production requirements, and financial results. Additionally, the role serves as a backup to the Vice President of Manufacturing and the Oxford site General Manager as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safety:
- Ensure a safe workplace is maintained at all times.
- Provide resources to proactively address safety issues.
- Comply with all OSHA and Revlon safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist the Safety Director with task forces, projects, and teams.
Measures: Safety incident rate; OSHA and Workmen’s comp rates; Revlon Safety Index.
- People:
- Proactively develop employees through cross-training, classes, and challenges.
- Address issues, concerns, and disciplinary actions promptly and effectively.
- Contribute to site efforts to improve workplace culture.
Measures: GPTW survey results; developmental activity; challenges and changes to drive organizational growth.
- GMP / Regulatory:
- Ensure compliance with all Revlon and governmental Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Provide resources to address issues before operations are adversely affected.
- Work with the site Quality Director to implement new requirements for products or regulations.
- Facilitate training and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Measures: First pass yields, rejection rates (domestic and international); GMP audit scores.
- Customer Service:
- Ensure all customer requirements (domestic, international, and special markets) are met per company objectives.
- Evaluate production needs to ensure equipment and personnel resources are available.
Measures: Schedule adherence; % dollars shipped vs. ordered (CSL); performance to promotional ship-on-time commitments.
- Financial:
- Oversee all financial aspects of the Filling and Assembly operation, including labor, material, overhead, and capital.
- Control direct, indirect, and nonstandard labor costs.
- Minimize material waste and ensure performance to established standards.
- Effectively utilize management staff, supplies, and ancillary equipment.
- Proactively address capacity and new product needs to meet customer demands.
- Support and facilitate site cost reduction objectives.
Measures: Labor – direct efficiency, indirect % to earned, nonstandard % to earned; Material – MUV; Overhead – performance to budget.
Financial Scope: Overhead – up to $14 million annually; Material – $250 million annually; Direct Labor – $30 million annually.
- Processes and Leadership:
- Establish processes to define job duties, expectations, and timely corrective actions.
- Formulate reasonable schedules that meet customer needs and equipment capabilities.
- Interface with departments to affect change.
- Ensure all equipment operates within expected tolerances.
- Adhere to all Revlon and governmental policies, guidelines, rules, and procedures.
- Interface with other functional areas such as HR, Quality, Distribution, and Finance.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of production equipment, including safe operating techniques, product capabilities, and troubleshooting methods.
- Knowledge of planning, scheduling, and forecasting processes and systems.
- Experience with operations in an FDA-GMP environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High-level ability to analyze situations and facilitate cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated success in people development and driving organizational growth.
- Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, and MRP systems.
- Preferred: 4-year degree in an engineering discipline (other areas of study considered with relevant experience).
- Minimum 15 years of experience.
- Ability to make decisions and effectively set and enforce company policy for up to 2,500 employees.
- Significant operating knowledge of the cosmetic industry, including products, equipment, and business practices.
- Knowledge of customer/supplier relationships and how to manage them for results.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Schedule
Shift hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000 per year. Base pay may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and geographic location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short-term incentives as part of total compensation.
