About the role

As Director of Events, you'll own the entire events portfolio, making Engine impossible to ignore in person. You'll lead with our brand, design experiences that match our ambitions, and build playbooks that make every event a measurable, monetizable engine for growth.

Responsibilities

  • The full events portfolio: Strategy, calendar, budget, and execution across every event type and product line, creating a single, coherent program.
  • Tier 1 conferences: How Engine shows up at the industry's biggest stages, including presence, activations, and moments that earn attention and outshine competitors.
  • Decision-maker events: Intimate, high-intent experiences (dinners, salons, executive gatherings) designed to move the people who sign the deals.
  • Supply & partner events: Programs that deepen relationships with supply partners and the broader partner ecosystem, reinforcing the Engine-only advantage.
  • Government & first-party events: Tailored programs for government audiences and flagship, branded first-party events that bring customers into the Engine world.
  • Brand-led experience design: Ensure every event leads with the Engine brand and delivers an experience that matches our ambitions—moments people talk about, not generic booths and lanyards.
  • Scale through creativity: Find ways to reach more of the market, in more places, for every dollar, thinking unconventionally about footprint, formats, and reach.

Playbooks You'll Build

  • Attendee recruitment: Repeatable systems for filling every room with the right people, built in partnership with growth, ABM, and sales.
  • Measurement: A rigorous framework for what an event is worth, from leading indicators to lagging outcomes.
  • Monetization: Models for sponsorships, supply and partner participation, and other ways events drive revenue outside of cost.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading B2B and B2C events end-to-end, from Tier 1 conferences to intimate executive and first-party experiences, with a portfolio of moments you're proud of.
  • A brand-obsessed experience designer who treats every event as an expression of the brand, with creative instincts to make them memorable.
  • A systems builder with playbooks "on playbooks" for recruiting attendees, measuring impact, and monetizing programs.
  • Hands-on and data-literate; you tie events to pipeline and revenue and can prove the return.
  • Someone who thinks about scale unconventionally and reaches more of the market in ways competitors can't or won't.
  • A strong operator and people leader who can run many events and motions at once across diverse product lines without dropping the craft.
  • High-agency, creative, and at ease working with brand, growth, partnerships, supply, sales, and external vendors and agencies.

Pay

Compensation packages are based on experience, expertise, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, total compensation may include equity and/or variable pay (OTE).

  • Base Pay Range: $173,400—$240,000 USD

Benefits

  • Compensation: Competitive base pay tied to role and experience, with opportunities for bonuses, commissions, and equity.
  • Benefits: Full list available at engine.com/culture.
  • Environments for Success: Hybrid-hub model with flexibility for in-office or remote work, tailored to role needs.
