About the role

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is seeking a Director, ERP Applications (7412) to collaborate with the Information Technology Department's Senior Director to drive SEPTA leadership, SEPTA departments, technology, vendors, and end-users through a high-risk but very impactful transformation. The Director- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems is responsible for delivering SEPTA's ERP, including creating and maintaining project plans.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the ERP program lifecycle from planning to implementation to stabilization.
  • Leads, manages, and coordinates cross-functional project implementation teams comprised of SEPTA subject matter experts (SMEs), SEPTA staff, and third-party system integrators.
  • Led establishment of the ERP program's overall approach, including but not limited to milestones' creations and timeframes that meet desired organizational goals.
  • Creates, manages, and maintains complex, enterprise-wide, requirements-driven project plans; leads activities that manage scope, schedules, budget, dependencies, and risks for SEPTA's Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain, Human Resources, and Payroll systems' implementations.
  • Collaborates closely with SEPTA's selected system integrator for the ERP program; serves as primary point-of-contact (POC) for the system integrator throughout the ERP's implementation lifespan.
  • Pairs closely with ERP program stakeholders, e.g., SEPTA leadership, SEPTA lines of business, and system integrator(s), to provide timely delivery of requirements based solutions across all project phases, which include but are not limited to analysis, design, build, test, and deploy.
  • Throughout the ERP program lifecycle, enforces SEPTA's desire for process and improvement and modification over system customization.
  • Collaborates with Senior Director- IT and their direct reports to communicate program goals, objectives, and potential outcomes to all levels of the Authority.
  • Works with Human Resources leadership and others within SEPTA to establish organizational change management plans, which include communications and training approaches, to facilitate smooth transitions to new systems and processes.
  • Tracks ERP program's progress against milestones and goals; develops a mechanism for doing so.
  • Works closely with Information Technology SMEs to ensure trouble-free integration of ERP solutions with existing systems.
  • Collects and manages project changes. Collaborates with SEPTA's selected system integrator and the Information Technology's Project Management Office (PMO) to establish and guarantee adherence to change control procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in IT with a strong focus on cloud-based ERP systems, e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Peoplesoft, SAP, Workday, etc. is required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrable experience managing large-scale ERP implementations is required; experience with on-premises-to-cloud implementations a plus.
  • A strong understanding of business processes across finance, human capital management, procurement, supply chain management, and timekeeping is required.
  • Experience managing enterprise-level projects' resources, i.e., people, time and money, required.
  • Incomparable communication and stakeholder management skills are required.
  • A robust background in organizational change management (OCM) methodologies and user adoption strategies is strongly preferred.
  • Public sector work experience is strongly preferred.
  • Project management certifications, e.g., PMP, Scrum, or Agile, are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, e.g., PaaS or APIs, is strongly preferred.
  • ERP systems' certifications are preferred.

$125,762.00 - $157,196.00
