Director of Enterprise Applications
Responsibilities
Lead the Enterprise Applications COE, including CAD/BIM, GIS standards, ERP, CRM, and HR platforms.
Establish clear ownership, standards, and operating expectations for delivery-critical systems.
Define and maintain a forward-looking view of enterprise application evolution, informed by delivery outcomes, operational pain points, and business strategy, vendor roadmaps and trends.
Protect COE capacity for standards, administration, and platform health (non-billable focus where applicable).
Own platform standards, configurations, and governance that directly impact project setup, quality, and rework.
Ensure platforms are stable, predictable, and intentionally owned; prevent fragmentation, duplicate tooling, and inconsistent usage.
Identify and lead select, high-value improvements that reduce friction, improve adoption, or strengthen delivery outcomes.
Partner with IT, Data and Innovation to ensure enterprise platforms integrate cleanly into downstream workflows and reporting.
Partner with IT on security, access, reliability, and lifecycle management to protect operational stability.
Define practical governance for enterprise platforms that protect reliability.
Build and lead a strong COE team focused on standards, enablement, and platform health.
Set clear expectations and accountability while fostering trust with delivery teams.
Develop talent with deep platform expertise and strong business awareness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, architecture, construction technology, or other relevant experience
- Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- 8+ years of experience with enterprise applications and/or design technology platforms, including leadership responsibility
- Demonstrated experience owning or governing systems of record and delivery-critical platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, CAD/BIM, GIS, HR systems)
- Experience establishing standards, governance, and operating models that improve adoption and consistency across teams
- Strong business partnership skills with the ability to work across Client Centers, Solution Centers and Business Services teams
- Strong understanding of how enterprise platforms support project delivery, financial performance, and operational decision-making
- Ability to balance long-term platform vision with near-term delivery realities; comfortable holding a point of view on where platforms should go, while adjusting based on evidence and feedback
- Clear communicator who can translate platform decisions and standards into business impact
- Strong judgment and prioritization skills; comfortable saying no to protect platform integrity
- Ability to influence and drive adoption through clarity and trust and value realization
- Ability to negotiate differing opinions and prioritize competing priorities
- Ability to broker decisions across vested parties and hold boundaries
