Job Summary
The Director, Engineering Project Management will lead global teams of Engineering Project & Program Managers supporting multiple business units across the global MAES organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead global team of Engineering Project & Program Managers supporting multiple business units across the global MAES organization
- Develop best in class engineering project management processes & tools to scope, drive, track, and deliver on a variety of global projects including chemical production scaleups, technology development, systems design and engineering, and capital projects including factory builds and expansions
- Directly project-manage critical, high visibility initiatives
- Continuously drive engineering efficiency to improve engineering speed, first-time-right performance, and scope adherence
- Professionally develop the Project Managers, continuously improving skills and behaviors
- Collaboratively develop project plans, status reports, and risk mitigation options with cross functional teams including R&D, Engineering, Operations, CI, Product Line Management, and Quality
- Lead cross functional team meetings, facilitate communication and execution, work with managers to address bottlenecks and resource balancing issues
- Partner with Engineering leadership to CIP existing internal practices and develop solutions
- Develop tools & skillsets within the Engineering Project Management teams that are best practices and translatable across geographic regions and business divisions
- Encourage, cultivate, and grow a culture of Continuous Improvement within the Engineering Project Management teams
Requirements
- Technical qualification in Science or Engineering at Bachelor Degree level is required; Masters and/or MBA desired, PMP qualifications are beneficial but not essential
- Minimum of 8+ years of project management leadership in one or more of chemical process scaling, electromechanical engineered systems development and release, or capital projects budgeted at over several million dollars
- 10-12+ years experience project management including planning, negotiating resources, driving projects forward, leading cross functional teams without direct line management authority
- Extensive knowledge of project management strategies, tools, and operational approaches to appropriately guide both short- and long-term projects, including projects requiring iterative testing or ambiguous pathways to success
- Ability to manage in both directions, clearly communicating to stakeholders to enable decisions to be made accurately and swiftly
- Experience working in electronics or similar technical industry is preferred

- Project management experience – Demonstrated ability to define success, scope, negotiate and plan resources, drive projects forward, continuously evaluate and redeploy, and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority
- Ownership and accountability – An innate desire to take ownership of projects and efforts and push forward without explicit requests, and a sense of obligation to commit clearly commit to the fullest possible extent and do what has been said will be done
- Criticality – Ability to assess resource requirements, availability, tradeoffs, and urgency vs importance in order to make the right decisions with information available
- Written and verbal communication skills – Strong communication abilities critical for collaboration, presenting ideas, and conveying information effectively
- Proficiency with multiple Project Management systems and tools – Technical competency in using tools for planning, execution, and documentation of projects across a variety of disciplines and project types

Pay
The typical base salary range for this position is between $174,732 and $262,098. Our pay range is based on several factors which are considered when determining any base salary.
