Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares narratives, reports, calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints.
  • Participates in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI’s, solving construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design concept.
  • Mentors and encourages the development of junior professionals and technicians.
  • Develops training and educational opportunities for the mechanical engineering team.
  • Assesses and recommends improvements relative to mechanical engineering software, design procedures, standard details, and master specifications.
  • Develops and achieves project scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects.
  • Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance; performs quality control reviews.
  • Manages the preparation of various reports, presentations, budgets, specifications, plans, construction schedules and permits for projects.
  • Plans, schedules and coordinates the preparation of documents, resources or activities for multiple major projects or is responsible for an entire work program.
  • Develops and maintains key client relationships, acquires leads, positions for projects; knowledgeable of the client’s decision-making processes.
  • Writes technical papers for publication.
  • Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path.
  • Defines project success criteria and milestones and effectively communicates throughout the project life cycle.
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors.
  • Ensures production work meets client quality expectations and adheres to current industry standards.
  • Schedules and tracks project milestones and deliverables.
  • Ensures that established PEM procedures for conducting the work, documentation, project and client management.
  • Conducts project lessons learned and creates a recommendation report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develops teaming arrangements, leads proposal preparation, and participates in interviews.

Required Education & Experience

  • 6+ years of AEC industry project experience
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
