Director, Brand Strategy and Digital Marketing
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Madison, WI. Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional off-hours availability required.

As the Director of Brand Strategy & Digital Marketing, you will lead the development of bold marketing strategies to strengthen the UW Health brand, elevate its reputation, and connect patients, employees, providers, and communities to essential care. You will oversee a team of brand strategy, creative, and media professionals while managing relationships with external marketing partners, including the lead advertising agency. This position provides enterprise leadership for brand strategy, digital marketing, sports partnerships, consumer insights, and responsible AI adoption in marketing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and evolve the UW Health brand strategy across a growing, nationally recognized healthcare organization.
- Drive integrated marketing campaigns, digital engagement strategies, and high-profile partnership initiatives.
- Partner with executive leaders, clinicians, operational teams, and community stakeholders to advance organizational priorities.
- Shape the future of healthcare marketing through the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Market Research, or a related field (required).
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field (preferred).
- 7+ years of experience developing and accelerating brand strategy and positioning at a product, department, or functional level.
- Experience leading an advertising function with an emphasis on digital advertising (preferred).
- Experience developing brand ambassador programs (preferred).
- Experience leading brand integration of acquired organizations (preferred).
- Experience in a large academic or complex health program that included Marketing/Communications services (preferred).
- Prior management experience (preferred).
