Dir Laboratory Services

About the role

The Director of Laboratory Services at Adena Health is responsible for planning, organizing, problem resolution, quality improvement, coordination of section/site functions, and directing the overall operation of the Laboratory Department. This position occasionally has direct patient contact and access to confidential employee, patient, and financial information.

Responsibilities

• Makes decisions independently and in collaboration with others.
• Recognizes problems that require referral to the Laboratory Medical Director.
• Formulates budgetary/financial aspects of the department.
• Develops business strategies while maintaining compliance with state, federal, local, and regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

Requirements

This position requires a strong background in laboratory management, clinical laboratory science, or a related field. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, a current license/certification to practice as a laboratory technologist, and at least 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role. A Master's degree and/or additional certifications may be preferred.

Skills

Key skills include strong organizational abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with hospital information systems are also beneficial.
