About the role

The Digital Software Engineering Lead Analyst is a senior strategic contributor who translates emerging field developments into tangible business direction, operating as a recognized subject matter expert whose counsel shapes how technology and operational decisions are made across teams, functions, and select external partners. Bringing commercial acumen, credibility, and influence to bear, this individual drives significant delivery impact — with outputs that shape the performance trajectory of the broader sub-function.

Responsibilities

  • Leads end-to-end delivery of complex application development initiatives spanning cross-functional teams and concurrent workstreams, providing strategic direction rather than hands-on execution.
  • Owns dependency management across the broader Digital organization to ensure coherent, coordinated application deployment at scale.
  • Defines and drives the overarching delivery strategy, and orchestrates internal and external teams toward committed outcomes.
  • Engages business and technical stakeholders in structured trade-off conversations that balance effort, timelines, features, and constraints — ensuring decisions are timely and well-informed.
  • Anticipates and eliminates delivery blockers before they become critical, handles escalations with precision, and maintains forward momentum in ambiguous or high-pressure environments.
  • Establishes and publishes clear delivery metrics spanning Design Reviews, Code Reviews, CI/CD adoption, and Design Pattern adoption to provide consistent, real-time transparency into delivery health across all teams.
  • Sustains expert-level command of application development methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Maintains a deep, authoritative understanding of the business domain, systems, and products in scope — encompassing accountabilities, boundaries, limitations, and scale factors — to interrogate architectural decisions and champion sound long-term technology choices.
  • Guides teams in building systems that are disciplined in resource consumption, with deliberate attention to hardware, runtime performance, load tolerance, and memory efficiency.
  • Serves as the primary engineering liaison to TPMs and Engineering Managers, providing early and accurate visibility into schedule risk while exercising influence well beyond the immediate team perimeter to drive continuous improvement and technology adoption across the organization.
  • Navigates stakeholder tension with confidence — surfacing discordant perspectives, facilitating structured dialogue, and reaching durable resolutions.
  • Applies rigorous risk assessment across all intake and delivery decisions, with explicit regard for the firm's reputation and the protection of Citigroup, its clients, and its assets.
  • Exercises sound ethical judgment governing all aspects of personal conduct and business practice without exception, and manages and escalates control issues with full transparency — ensuring they remain visible, tracked, and resolved.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record of leading delivery functions across large-scale or multi-project technology portfolios.
  • Deep grounding in application development methodologies including SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall frameworks.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication capabilities, with proven ability to translate complex business requirements into precise system specifications in close partnership with end users and TPMs.
  • Solid command of risk assessment, controls, and regulatory compliance expectations within a complex enterprise environment.
