About the role

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City, NJ to support full-cycle application development, including specifications, design, development, and end-user assistance. The role will focus on designing and developing robust, resilient, and scalable equity trading solutions using Java, Spring Framework, and AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop equity trading solutions
  • Employ continuous integration and continuous delivery as well as DevOps principles
  • Ensure high quality deliverables while enforcing development best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Software Developer, Systems Engineer, Technology Lead, or a closely related occupation
  • Five (5) years of experience with Java and Hibernate, Spring Framework and Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, ActiveMQ, Apache Camel, Smooks, JUnit, and Angular
  • Five (5) years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Oracle
  • Five (5) years of experience with Maven and Gradle
  • Five (5) years of experience with MS SQL Server and Java Database Connectivity (JDBC)
  • Five (5) years of experience with Redis, Apache JMeter, Jenkins, and SonarQube
  • Five (5) years of experience with Splunk and AppDynamics
  • Five (5) years of experience with TeamCity and Git

Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Benefits

Salary range for the position: $200,000 - $210,000 /Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
