About the role
The Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group is seeking a leader to manage a team responsible for designing, developing, and executing tests to qualify network performance for AI/ML capabilities. This role requires a strong background in Python automation and testing frameworks, as well as experience with open-source technologies and customer-facing roles.
Responsibilities
- Leading technical discussions with customers to gather and clarify requirements.
- Overseeing the creation and maintenance of testing environments for system and solution validation.
- Driving the development and enhancement of test frameworks and benchmarking tools.
- Defining metrics and gathering data for network performance benchmarking.
- Leading troubleshooting efforts for customer issues.
- Managing projects and mentoring team members to foster growth and excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in STEM with 6+ years, or PhD in STEM with 3+ years.
- 5+ years of experience in Python automation scripting.
- 3+ years of experience in configuring, testing, or debugging networking systems and solutions.
- Experience with PyTest or similar open-source QA automation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of control and data plane technologies, including L2/L3 networking, BGP, ECMP, and VXLAN-based EVPN fabrics.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams.

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $183,800.00 to $263,600.00, subject to location and individual performance.
Schedule
This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days per week in the office.
