About the role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Ecommerce Manager to oversee ecommerce website operations, digital customer experience, ecommerce technology, website projects, and online business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day ecommerce website operations and related digital systems.
  • Oversee website updates, checkout functionality, payment settings, tracking, apps, integrations, and platform configurations.
  • Cook with developers, agencies, designers, and internal teams to implement enhancements and resolve issues.
  • Maintain website performance, mobile responsiveness, customer-facing bugs, tracking issues, and site reliability.
  • Ensure websites are user-friendly, mobile-optimized, visually consistent, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Understand the impact of themes, apps, integrations, tracking, and platform changes on performance and customer experience.
  • Lead ecommerce and website projects from planning through launch.
  • Create project briefs, requirements, timelines, QA plans, testing procedures, launch plans, and post-launch reviews.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Manage priorities, risks, dependencies, budgets, approvals, and deliverables.
  • Conduct testing before and after launches to ensure successful implementation.
  • Apply UX/UI best practices to improve the online shopping experience.
  • Identify and resolve friction points across navigation, product pages, forms, cart, checkout, mobile experience, page speed, and trust signals.
  • Use analytics and behavior tools (GA4, Shopify Analytics, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, etc.) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support A/B testing, landing page optimization, checkout improvements, and mobile enhancements.
  • Recommend data-driven improvements that enhance usability, conversion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain consistent experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
  • Serve as the business-side owner of ecommerce technology, website improvements, and integrations.
  • Maintain working knowledge of ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, etc.).
  • Understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, tracking pixels, data feeds, apps, plugins, ERP, OMS, CRM, email/SMS, loyalty, review, search, subscription, and customer service integrations.
  • Communicate effectively with developers and vendors, evaluate technical recommendations, and ensure solutions support business objectives.
  • Explore practical uses of AI and LLM tools to improve productivity, documentation, research, QA, planning, reporting, troubleshooting, and process development.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive work and improve communication and efficiency.
  • Maintain curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI tools and workflows.
  • Monitor conversion rate, traffic, revenue, checkout performance, customer behavior, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Use tools such as GA4, Shopify Analytics, Looker Studio, Search Console, Hotjar, and Microsoft Clarity.
  • Ensure tracking, pixels, UTMs, and conversion events function properly.
  • Identify data gaps and coordinate technical fixes.
  • Prepare business-focused performance reporting and recommendations.
  • Support marketing teams by ensuring landing pages, tracking, forms, checkout flows, and campaign assets are functioning correctly before launch.
  • Understand how website performance impacts marketing effectiveness.
  • Aid in campaign execution from a website, UX, and technical perspective.
  • Manage relationships with agencies, developers, SaaS providers, platform support teams, and vendors.
  • Review scopes, timelines, deliverables, budgets, and launch requirements.
  • Hold vendors accountable for quality, documentation, QA, and communication.
  • Escalate issues when expectations are not met.
  • Translate business needs into clear vendor requirements.
  • Support resolution of issues related to checkout, payments, shipping, taxes, customer accounts, integrations, tracking, and website functionality.
  • Cook with operations, finance, customer service, marketing, and technical teams during incidents.
  • Maintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, QA procedures, and platform settings.
  • Respond quickly to customer-facing issues affecting sales or user experience.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in ecommerce, website operations, digital commerce, or ecommerce project management.
  • Experience managing ecommerce websites and digital projects.
  • Hands-on experience with major ecommerce platforms.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, QA, and launch planning experience.
  • Knowledge of ecommerce technologies, integrations, analytics, tracking, checkout systems, and customer journey optimization.
  • Strong UX/UI understanding and visual design judgment.
  • Experience using analytics and behavior tracking tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interest in AI tools and workflow improvement.
