About the Role
The Digital Communications & Web Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing the organization's digital presence through website administration, social media engagement, and strategic digital communications. This role oversees website content within the LiveWhale content management system, develops compelling social media and marketing campaigns, and creates engaging digital content that supports institutional priorities, events, and initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and Events, the Manager will work collaboratively across teams to drive enrollment and philanthropy efforts for Penn Nursing’s academic programs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital marketing strategies supporting institutional priorities, events, academic programs, and recruitment initiatives.
- Manage and execute multiple digital marketing and advertising campaigns, including audience development, website updates, creative asset coordination, and performance analysis.
- Support email marketing campaigns, promotional outreach, and audience communications using Slate CRM and other platforms.
- Coordinate with branding and creative teams to develop digital assets, including graphics, photography, video, and web content.
- Monitor campaign performance and engagement metrics, providing regular progress updates and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Lead digital and marketing projects from conception through completion, utilizing project management tools and best practices.
- Manage project timelines, quality standards, and resources while balancing competing priorities.
- Facilitate project debriefs and after-action reviews to identify successes and areas for improvement.
- Manage and update website content using White Whale/LiveWhale CMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
- Build and maintain webpages, news stories, profiles, event listings, and multimedia content.
- Monitor website performance and recommend improvements for usability and engagement.
- Develop, schedule, and publish social media content across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, and YouTube.
- Create engaging digital campaigns supporting organizational priorities, events, programs, and initiatives.
- Assist with content planning, copywriting, and visual storytelling.
- Monitor analytics and engagement metrics to inform strategy and improve performance.
- Support livestreams, video promotion, and digital event coverage as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
- Experience managing websites using White Whale/LiveWhale or similar CMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of social media strategy and digital marketing best practices.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- High skill level and experience with SEO/SEM, website funnel design, Slate or other CRM, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Meta, LinkedIn, and Data Studio.
- Familiarity with analytics tools, SEO principles, and email marketing platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively across teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
- Photography/video editing experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
- Knowledge of accessibility and web content standards.

Pay
$65,628.00 - $82,000.00 Annual Rate. Salary offers are based on candidate qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they relate to the position, and are aligned with external market and internal peer data.
