Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the dietary department, including meal planning, food preparation, meal service, and sanitation.
- Develop, plan, and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of Park Springs residents while adhering to dietary guidelines, food safety regulations, and budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including maintaining safe food handling practices, sanitation standards, and kitchen safety.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate dietary staff to ensure optimal performance in food preparation, service, and cleanliness.
- Conduct nutritional assessments of residents in collaboration with the clinical team and make necessary meal modifications for special dietary needs, allergies, and restrictions.
- Maintain inventory levels, order food supplies, and manage food costs to stay within budget.
- Ensure the quality, presentation, and safety of meals served to residents, while adhering to food service timelines.
- Oversee the documentation related to dietary services, including meal counts, food waste, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to address any concerns related to food quality, service, and resident satisfaction.
- Participate in food policy and procedure reviews and ensure continuous improvement within the food service operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 23 years of experience in dietary management or food service leadership, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food allergies, and special dietary restrictions.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate dietary staff effectively.
- Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and cost control in food service operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well with residents, staff, and family members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
