Apple Rehab Guilford is a 86-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center located on waterfront property in scenic Guilford, Connecticut. We are a family-owned and operated company that prides itself on decades of staff longevity, contributing to superior outcomes and quality of care.

As a Dietary Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the Dietary Department's programs and activities to ensure the highest standards of quality within approved budgets. You will also ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintain the organizational structure and staffing of the department, and participate in continuing education and employee development.

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Dietary Department, its programs and activities within approved budget and quality standards.
• Maintains compliance with state and federal regulations in preparation for state survey.
• Prepares recommendations to the Administrator concerning department operations.
• Fosters and maintains inter-departmental communication and cooperation to ensure that any reported concerns are addressed and corrected.
• Develops the organizational structure, staffing and direction within policy and budgetary guidelines.
• Responsible for exercising authority to take necessary personnel actions for department personnel including actions impacting employment such as hire, evaluations, work assignments and schedules.
• Assists in departmental conflict resolution and makes recommendations for discipline.
• Participates in continuing education and empowerment of employees as well as makes recommendations for promotion and transfers within branches of Apple Rehab.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in long term care foodservice, or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing dietary services in healthcare.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make informed decisions and exercise authority responsibly.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and employee development.

Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification. Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data. Attention to detail, good follow through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to supervise and instruct others. Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred. Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team. Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks.
