Job Description Summary
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for patient meal food service on assigned units, including menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, special requests and needs.
- Communicates and addresses patient food issues/concerns and needs to Nutrition and Food Services.
- Interacts with nursing regarding patient nutrition needs or requirements as well as unit food services needs.
- Aids dietitian in monitoring patients who are NPO, liquid diet or need to have intake recorded.
- Ensures accurate timing of services and reports incidents to supervisor/team leader immediately.
- Complies with current Hospital security and safety policies.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of safety in the work area by lifting correctly, wiping up spills, and using carts to transport items.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Licenses/Registrations/Certifications: Not applicable
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience: 1 year in healthcare or restaurant food service preferred
