Diet Technician, Per Diem

About the role

Responsible to assist the Dietitian in the provision of nutrition services to a broad patient population. This includes providing appropriate meals, between-meal nourishments, and special formulas required by each individual patient.

Responsibilities

• Provides nutrition assessment of patients
• Provides diet counseling to patients, including education, discharge information, tracking, menu selection, etc.
• Assesses patient calorie counts and percentage of food consumed by the patient
• Conducts meal rounds and monitors diet restrictions
• Maintains pertinent records
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required (Associate's Degree in Dietetics preferred)
• Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) credential preferred
• 1-2 years of dietician experience with multiple patient populations preferred
• Good communication skills and high level of service delivery
• Attention to detail and computer proficiency

This role requires direct patient care and cannot accept experience in lieu of a degree.
