About the role

We have an immediate opening for a Diesel Technician at our Freightliner of Elkton dealership.

Pay

$40,000–$100,000 per year

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Must pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screen

Preferences

  • Commercial Driving License
  • Heavy Duty truck experience
  • Technical training school or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Determine cause of malfunction using manufacturers’ approved troubleshooting guides, test drives, or manufacturer online/printed service manuals
  • Promote sales of labor, parts, and accessories to meet customer needs
  • Perform requested labor operations using recommended procedures, tools, and equipment
  • Document work performed and applicable technical information
  • Note additional needed work and obtain approval before proceeding
  • Clean all parts worked on and keep customer vehicles clean
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization of personal work area
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Order parts according to dealership procedures
  • Tag all warranty parts and return all dirty cores to parts in a timely manner
  • Perform repairs in a timely manner set by the manufacturers’ standard repair time guidelines
