Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on diesel engines and related systems.
• Inspect vehicles to identify worn or defective parts and determine needed repairs.
• Conduct routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and system checks to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
• Collaborate closely with service advisors and team members to provide timely and effective solutions for customers.
• Adhere to safety protocols and dealership standards at all times.
• Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed and provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role within an automotive service environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to work in Janesville, WI.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical automotive degree is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Tools/toolbox required.
• Positive, friendly attitude with a customer service mentality.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.

Pay

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $35.00 to $45.00, paid semi-monthly.
