About the role

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Indianapolis, IN. This position will begin on the day shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) and will transition to the second shift (3:30 PM–12:30 AM). Applicants must be comfortable working both shifts.

Responsibilities

Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
Perform chassis work (brakes etc.) as well as engine work
Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
Maintain own tools

Requirements

Completes complex internal engine repairs
Performs engine overhauls unassisted
Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

Skills

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
