Diesel Mechanic C

About the role

Transdev in Longmont, Colorado, is seeking a C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role requires expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Shift schedule

Sunday through Wednesday, 3:30pm - 1:30am

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Candidate must obtain two (2) ASE certifications within one (1) year of employment.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or a combo of 3 plus years of education and experience.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Must participate in the company ASE certification program to receive ASE certification within 1 year of employment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL is required. Paid CDL training is provided.
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical requirements

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions—100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $30.81 - maximum $35.15/hr plus $1.00 an hour shift differential
• Vacation: 1 week following 6 months of employment, 2 weeks after 1 year of employment
