About the Role
Responsible for safely operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized equipment.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance on various vehicle types, including diesel, CNG, gas, and electric models.
- Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, ensuring timely procurement of parts.
- Complete administrative tasks such as reports, work orders, and parts documentation accurately.
- Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies.
- Collaborate on equipment write-ups, coordinate repairs, and assist in training new team members.
- Maintain personal tools and keep the work area organized.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; technical diploma in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn diagnostic software; experience with software is a plus.
- Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria.
Physical & Work Conditions
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Work environment may include loud noise, moving parts, vibrations, and exposure to chemicals.
- Occasional work at heights.
