About the role

Heavy-duty diesel truck technician responsible for safely operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining trucks and equipment to ensure safe operation.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized waste/recycling equipment.
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance on diesel, CNG, gas, and electric vehicles.
  • Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, ensuring parts availability.
  • Complete daily reports, work orders, and administrative tasks accurately.
  • Maintain safety and compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical issues, scheduling repairs, and training new team members.
  • Maintain tools and keep the work area organized.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or GED; technical diploma in diesel mechanics preferred.
  • At least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn diagnostic software.
  • Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria.

Physical & Working Conditions

Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting up to 100 pounds. Exposure to loud noises, moving parts, vibration, weather, and chemicals; occasional work at heights.
