About the role
Heavy-duty diesel truck mechanic responsible for operating, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining company-owned or leased trucks and equipment to ensure safe operation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair issues with heavy-duty diesel trucks, hydraulics, and specialized waste/recycling equipment.
- Perform routine and complex maintenance on diesel, CNG, gas, and electric vehicles.
- Plan and schedule repairs using the M5 planner system, ensuring parts availability.
- Complete reports, work orders, and parts requests accurately.
- Ensure safety and compliance with all relevant laws and policies.
- Assist in reviewing equipment write-ups, coordinating repairs, and training new team members.
- Maintain personal tools and keep a clean work area.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; technical diesel mechanics qualification preferred.
- At least 1 year of diesel mechanic experience.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn diagnostic software.
- Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Frequent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working in loud, hot/cold, and chemical environments.
- Occasional work at heights and exposure to moving machinery and chemicals.
