Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Heavy duty diesel truck and equipment mechanic responsible for safe operation, repair, rebuild, and maintenance to ensure optimal and safe performance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel, CNG, gas, and electric vehicles and equipment.
• Complete work orders, procure parts, and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and schedule repairs, review mechanical write-ups, and coordinate repair timelines.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Use a variety of tools and maintain personal tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Assist in training new employees and stay updated with the latest technology through manuals and training seminars.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical diploma preferred.
• At least one year of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Experience with diagnostic software is a plus.
• Computer literate with willingness to learn software systems.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain accurate records.

Skills & Abilities

• Effective communication and understanding of repair manuals.
• Ability to operate necessary vehicles and equipment.
• Physical ability to perform all job tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds.

Working Conditions

Exposure to loud noise, chemicals, extreme weather, moving parts, and potential heights, requiring physical endurance and safety awareness.
