Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Amrize, one of the largest construction materials producers in the world, is recruiting full-time (6am-6pm) Diesel Mechanic in Prosper, TX. This position will maintain and repair heavy construction, automotive, mechanical, and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment failures.
• Provide repair and maintenance to diesel and gasoline engines.
• Adjust and repair ignition, fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and steering systems.
• Maintain and repair chassis, frames, and bodies.
• Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges, and meters.
• Lubricate equipment.
• Maintain and repair tires, batteries, brakes, and valves.
• Perform shop management functions such as maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory control, making estimates of material, labor, and equipment requirements.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Aid other mechanics as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license, Class A or B commercial driver’s license preferred.
• 3 years experience directly related to the duties or mechanics school graduate (Heavy equipment diesel engines and transmissions).
• Requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
• Must be able to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
• Must be able to move freely, including the ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
• Must be able to lift 100 pounds unassisted.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
