Diagnostic Imaging Manager
Job Summary
Initiates intradepartmental problem solving and communication. Provides leadership guidance and instruction to staff. Directs the coordination of patient flow through the department. Assists in the development and implementation of department PI functions. Coordinates troubleshooting for diagnostic radiology equipment. Works closely with Supervisors, establishing job expectations, to monitor work performance of staff. Maintains appropriate staffing levels to coincide with patient volumes and budget man-hours per stat. Responsible for monitoring and posting of monthly and annual radiation dosimetry levels. Assists in preparation of justifications for equipment proposals, staff education and special projects. Actively involved in specific projects requested by Radiology Director. Responsible for cost containment of inventory management. Coordinates troubleshooting for PACS operations, ensuring daily backup of PACS system database. Assists in the development and enforcement of Policies and Procedures for PACS. Reviews and develops Radiology Department job descriptions, expectations, employee competencies and other training documents. Works closely with Director and area supervisors to complete annual employee evaluations. Assists in the maintenance of up to date effective departmental Policies and Procedure notebook. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees, patient’s and the Director according to Policy and Procedures. Complies and maintains educational requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Three years minimum experience as a staff technologist. Three years minimum supervisory experience (required)
- Education: Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Sciences. B.A./B.S. (preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technology (required), Certification of Nuclear Medicine Technology (required), American Healthcare Radiology Administrators - AHRA - (preferred), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (preferred)
