About the role
We are seeking a Diagnostic Breast Sonographer to join our team in Coral Gables, FL. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique.
You will communicate with patients, relay pertinent information to the radiologist, and document findings. You will also collaborate with radiologists to perform any necessary additional exams.

Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
- Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
- Explain procedures to patients to maximize comfort and cooperation
- Monitor patients during all phases of the procedure, ensuring emotional and physical well-being
- Assist and chaperone radiologists during ultrasound exams and biopsy procedures using sterile technique and universal precautions
- Communicate patient information professionally to patients and referring physicians’ offices
- Maintain ultrasound equipment for cleanliness, proper maintenance, and safety
- Foster a good working relationship with radiologists and other center staff members
- Understand, promote, and demonstrate the Solis Way in all interactions
Requirements
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)
- Active certification with ARDMS
- Current compliance with CME requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate procedures to patients and educate them about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending medical terminology
- Ability to communicate information effectively on a one-on-one and small group basis to doctors, patients, and employees
- Strong reasoning ability to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions
- Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software
