Diagnostic Breast Sonographer

Solis Mammography is seeking a Diagnostic Breast Sonographer to join our patient-focused team. We are the nation's leader in breast health services, delivering compassionate, exceptional care to the generations of women we serve.

Work location and schedule

800 Peakwood Dr. Suite 1F Houston, TX 77090 | Full-Time, Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:00pm (No weekends!)

Responsibilities

• Independently operate sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique
• Communicate with patients and relay pertinent information to radiologists
• Document on tracking sheets/charts
• Understand and perform any necessary additional exams as directed by radiologists
• Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
• Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
• Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation
• Provide appropriate monitoring during all phases of procedure, ensuring patient emotional and physical well-being
• Assist and/or chaperone radiologists during ultrasound exams
• Assist radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile technique and universal precautions
• Communicate patient information professionally and courteously to patients and referring physicians' offices as required
• Understand, promote, and demonstrate the Solis Way

Qualifications

• Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
• Active certification with ARDMS
• Current compliance with CME requirements
• Ability to effectively communicate procedures to patients and educate women about the role of regular mammography in preventative breast health
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
• Ability to effectively communicate information on a one-on-one and small group basis to doctors, patients, and other employees
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes involved written or oral instructions
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations
• Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
