Developer Experience Engineer, AWS Developer Experience
About the role
AI agents are opening up a new way to build on the cloud. Developers can describe what they want and watch an agent stand it up. This role works on enabling the next generation of agentic development in the cloud, making AWS where developers and their agents love to build. We are looking for a Developer Experience Engineer to shape what great agent-driven development looks like on AWS. You will build with agents across AWS services, find the friction, and turn what you learn into content, guidance, and feedback that makes the experience better. You will partner with service teams to advocate for changes and produce the technical resources developers and their agents rely on.
A day in the life
No two days look the same, but most weeks you will spend real time building. You will use agents to build on AWS and go deep on the experience. You will document what works, what breaks, and what's missing. You will turn those findings into blog posts, sample code, tutorials, and feedback to product teams. You will collaborate with other developer advocates and engineers across the org to raise the bar on agentic content and standards.
About the team
This role will join the AWS Developer Experience organization, where our goal is to win the hearts and minds of developers around the world, by meeting them where they are and providing the right technical education, tools, and resources to enable developer success.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or experience in software development
- Experience writing for developer and technical audiences: blog, product documentation, technical information
- 4+ years of software development experience building production applications
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants in real development workflows
- Strong programming skills in multiple languages, with particular depth in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or similar
Preferred qualifications
- Experience building developer tools, CLI applications, IDE extensions, or workflow automation
- Track record of high-impact technical video content with demonstrated developer reach
- Speaking experience at major developer conferences with focus on practical implementation topics
- Experience with cloud-native development patterns and modern development workflows
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Experience mentoring developers with strong communication and problem-solving skills

Pay
- USA, CA, San Francisco: $135,600.00 - $237,300.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $117,900.00 - $206,300.00 USD annually
- Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
