Detroit – Junior Employment Litigation Associate

About the role

The Detroit office of Fisher Phillips is seeking a Junior Employment Litigation Associate with 1-2 years of litigation experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates will bring a desire to grow their skills and build their practice under the mentorship of seasoned attorneys while taking on meaningful, client-facing work immediately. While prior employment law experience is preferred, we are equally interested in litigators from other defense-side complex litigation practices who demonstrate a strong interest in developing an employment law practice and contributing to firm growth.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and responding to pleadings
• Managing written and electronic discovery, including e-discovery strategy
• Drafting dispositive and non-dispositive motions
• Arguing non-dispositive motions
• Defending depositions
• Participating in mediations

Qualifications

• Excellent academic credentials
• Advanced writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative mindset, empathy for teammates, and a strong commitment to client service
• Admission to the Michigan Bar is required
