Desktop Support/Network Technician

About the role

The role involves providing advanced technical support within a healthcare environment on Martha’s Vineyard, supporting networked applications, infrastructure, and end-user systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support to in-house IS staff and user departments regarding all networked applications and systems.
  • Performs testing and problem analysis for server, desktop, and IT infrastructure work.
  • Acts as a primary liaison with third-party vendors during implementation and troubleshooting of network, server, and application issues.
  • Leads the evaluation, planning, testing, installation, and configuration of network-based applications.
  • Serves as a site liaison for network, desktop, voice systems, intranet, and biomedical device integration.
  • Supports desktop hardware and software upgrades, including voice systems and wired/wireless data infrastructure deployment.
  • Facilitates the fit-out of new construction and renovation projects in collaboration with leadership, IS, and facilities teams.
  • Installs, maintains, and supports PC network infrastructure, VoIP phone systems, and onsite client/server hardware and software.
  • Participates in the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new IS technologies and network applications for clinical and administrative departments.
  • Performs occasional after-hours and weekend work to complete tasks outside regular hours.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in network administration within a large computing environment.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows Server OS.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and MS Internet Explorer.
  • Active Directory administration experience.
  • Understanding of network topologies, IP networking, and security.
  • Scripting experience.
  • Able to work on-site in Martha’s Vineyard.
  • US Citizenship or valid Green Card.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, or Citrix.
  • Experience supporting biomedical devices and clinical systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IIS and Microsoft SQL Server administration.
  • Experience with Voice Over IP systems and wireless data infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting .NET applications.
