About the role
The Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Employee Investigations serves as the lead investigator for employee-related complaints under the University’s Sexual and Related Misconduct Policy and supports centralized case management functions for the Title IX Office.
Responsibilities
- Conducts prompt, thorough, equitable, trauma-informed, and impartial investigations involving allegations of sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation, stalking, relationship violence, and other prohibited conduct involving employees.
- Manages a caseload of employee-related complaints and reports under the University’s Sexual and Related Misconduct Policy from intake through resolution.
- Conducts interviews; gathers, assesses, and analyzes evidence; and prepares detailed investigative reports and findings.
- Collaborates with Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Public Safety, Student Affairs, General Counsel, and other campus stakeholders to manage Title IX matters, including intake and assessment of reports, implementation and monitoring of supportive measures, investigative coordination, threat and risk assessment, interim actions, compliance with institutional and regulatory response obligations and communication regarding processes and outcomes.
- Provides guidance to managers and campus stakeholders regarding Title IX-related policies, procedures, reporting obligations, and resolution processes.
- Supports administration of the University’s Title IX compliance program in accordance with Title IX, VAWA, the Clery Act, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Maintains accurate, confidential, and organized records related to investigations, resolutions, compliance activities, and reporting requirements using case management and tracking systems.
- Monitors developments in applicable laws, regulations, and guidance and assists in updating policies, procedures, communications, and institutional practices accordingly.
- Affords support in preparing institutional reports, audits, trend analyses, and compliance-related documentation.
- Affords support in the development and facilitation of training, educational programming, and prevention initiatives related to Title IX, prohibited conduct, reporting obligations, and bystander intervention.
- Affords support in outreach, communications, website content management, and logistics for the Title IX Working Group and other Title IX-related initiatives and committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in Title IX, civil rights investigations, employee relations, human resources, student conduct, compliance, or related investigative work.
- Strong knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act requirements, and related federal, state, and local regulations impacting higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct impartial, well-organized, and trauma-informed investigations independently and with sound judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive matters with professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technology skills, including proficiency with case management and reporting systems.
