Responsibilities
- Accepts and processes transactions for various taxes, including motor vehicle and property tax payments.
- Sets up and monitors payment plan agreements.
- Assists taxpayers and the public by responding to questions or directing them to the proper person.
- Collects payments and fees, submits payments, and makes change.
- Balances and inputs daily transactions.
- Assists Internal Auditors.
- Maintains knowledge of current laws and regulations relating to motor vehicles and sales tax laws and procedures.
- Files customer records, including supporting documentation and information from other agencies.
- Prepares transaction reports for the State as needed.
- Tracks and ensures the security of State accountable items; held personally accountable for shortages.
- Assists other employees with more complicated transactions and trains new employees.
- Participates in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed.
- May be required to work extended hours and/or weekends.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of related work experience.
- Ability to type 40 WPM.
Pay
$16.34–$24.51/hour based on qualifications.
