Main Responsibilities
- Help prepare agendas and information packets for City meetings.
- Attend assigned public meetings and take meeting minutes.
- File, scan, organize, and maintain official records.
- Prepare and post public notices.
- Serve as a Notary Public and verify signatures on official documents.
- Help process public records requests.
- Assist with city elections tasks.
- Provide basic support for Granicus (agenda software) and the City Hall audio/video system.
- Do other similar office tasks as needed.
Education/Experience
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in business, public administration, or a related field, AND 2 years of similar work experience, OR A mix of education and experience that gives you the needed skills.
Skills Needed
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to learn and follow state and local recordkeeping laws
- Good organizational skills
- Able to write clearly
- Able to understand and interpret city laws and procedures
- Good judgment, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Able to work well with the public and coworkers
- Comfortable using computers and office equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Other Requirements
- May need to become a Certified Municipal Clerk
- Must be or become a Notary Public
