About the Role
Reporting to the Deposit Operations Team Manager, the Deposit Operations Specialist I is responsible for executing business-as-usual (BAU) functions within their team. This role involves performing regular day-to-day activities such as processing daily Returned Deposit Items (RDI), facilitating customer research requests, reviewing user testing, release management, and workflow review. The Specialist will leverage their knowledge and experience to support the team and other business lines.
Responsibilities
- Perform expected day-to-day activities, including processing daily Returned Deposit Items.
- Handle customer research and image requests from internal and external parties.
- Review reports and process necessary maintenance for Bank functions within Deposit Operations.
- Manage activities, exceptions, and escalate situations based on knowledge and experience.
- Communicate business, functional, and data requirements related to processes.
- Provide training to other team specialists on existing or new functionalities.
- Assist in developing test plans/scripts and subsequent testing of projects and releases.
- Review and advise on operational process flows, procedures, and training materials; keep documentation up to date.
- Assist in gathering evidence for audit and exam requirements.
- Support issue management, including issue identification, impact assessment, and remediation efforts.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements related to team processes and assist in control updates to ensure compliance.
- Serve as a liaison to other teams within the department and other business lines based on functional knowledge.
Travel requirement: ≤10%
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two or more years of experience in Bank Deposit Operations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and issue management skills.

- Detail-oriented with strong planning skills and consistent follow-through.
- Ability to train peers on daily functions.
- Able to successfully balance conflicting priorities.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, including proficiency in data manipulation (Excel, Access, etc.).
- Highly self-motivated, directed, and a team contributor.
Pay
Salary Range: $20.00 - $29.50 per hour. Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Location
Lincoln, RI (preferred) or Pittsfield, MA.
